Press Release – Central Coast Express Wed 24th October 2007 Staff recruitment seminar A SEMINAR on staff recruitment this week promises to offer employers valuable advice. The Safety Show at Homebush each year attracts more than 10,000 health and safety professionals. It runs from today until Friday. Participants include Hills Street Group, Gosford, which as well as the recruitment seminar, will also offer free cholesterol and blood pressure checks at its stand. Group physiotherapist Sharon Richens said the show was “a great opportunity for employers of all sizes to learn safety strategies specific to their businesses and to update their knowledge on industry trends”. Sydney Safety Show October 2007 Hills Street Group held a popular presentation at this year’s Sydney Safety Show titled “Pre employment assessments: Interesting Facts, myths and half truths”. James Ellis, Managing Director of HSG, highlighted the importance using the right tools to measure and predict human performance. The theme of the presentation was that it is not sufficient to just undertake a medical or musculoskeletal screen. James made the point that it is crucial to assess candidates’ ability to perform the essential components of the job they are applying for. This requires an assessment of the specific workplace and the organisational culture. After being warned by organisers that the safety theatre presentations were not always well attended (commonly between 3-5 people in the audience), James was thrilled when nearly 30 delegates attended, many of whom approached him afterwards to ask questions. As a way of introducing ourselves to new clients and catching up with existing clients, Hills Street Group offered FREE cholesterol and blood pressure checks at their stand. Glenn Morante, from HSG – Mid North Coast, undertook these assessments and was overwhelmed by the demand. In two days he rarely had a chance to take a break.

Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Conference Cairns September 2007 Hills Street Group recently held an exhibition booth at the APA National Conference in Cairns specifically designed to inform physiotherapists about the benefits of franchising opportunities with Hills Street Group.

GIO Preferred Rehabilitation Provider Panel August 2007 Hills Street Group were successful in regaining preferred provider status on the revised panel of select rehabilitation providers for GIO Workers Compensation. We were advised that we were placed in the Top 5 rehab providers in NSW according to their scoring system relating to outcomes, costs and standards compliance.

NSW Farmers Pig Producers Workshop In February 2006, Hills Street Group were invited by NSW Farmers to be part of a workshop for pig producers. Pig farmers came together to share experiences and ideas regarding injury management. As a result of the information shared and learnt in the workshop, participants elected to share this information across the industry in NSW. Hills Street Group have since been contracted to develop a training resource manual for pig farmers aimed at assisting them manage their workplace issues more effectively and efficiently leading to overall reduced operating costs. Face to face training sessions for the industry are to be delivered across NSW in 2007 in Dubbo, Grenfell and Lismore.

Safe The Farm Launch In May 2006, Hills Street Group successfully launched Safe the Farm – OH&S Packages specifically tailored for the rural and farming industry, in conjunction with Delta Agribusiness at their recent Cropping Seminar. Special guests included Douglas Woods.

Celebrating 10 Years... New Name & First Hills Street Group Franchisee In 1995, Hills Street Group previously Hills Street Occupational Rehabilitation Service became accredited as a NSW WorkCover Rehabilitation Provider. Initially an adjunct to the already established Hills Street Sports Medicine Centre, Hills Street Group grew quickly. Ten years on we employ over thirty staff throughout NSW. Our head office in Gosford now supports staff and clients in the Central South West, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle and Hunter, the Mid North Coast and as far north as Coffs Harbour, Grafton and Lismore. In 2006, we became the Hills Street Group and the first HSG franchise was sold. The unique partnership with already established businesses has been replicated in our regional locations and has proven to be a very successful model.
